Event Details

In this 3-hour workshop, participants will learn how to pull their own sheets of handmade paper made from cotton fiber. Each sheet will also include plant material sourced directly from the greenhouse, such as flowers, leaves, and seeds. Participants will also gain an understanding of the different types of cellulose fiber and how plants are processed into paper.

It is recommended to attend both weeks of this workshop. The first week will begin with harvesting corn leaves to make paper.

About Molly

Molly Berkson lives in Chicago and is a teaching artist with After School Matters & ElevArte Community Studio. Berkson has recently exhibited work at After School Special in Milwaukee WI, Femme4Femme in Chicago as part 2nd Floor Rear, and at the Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale, NY where she was a studio intern in 2016. Berkson graduated with her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2015. She primarily works with paper, print, books, and fiber crafts.
