Join us for the 2020 Virtual Fall Gatherings on November 10th & 17th from 6:00 – 7:30 PM.
The listening sessions will focus on two major themes in Chicago urban agriculture, guided by a panel discussion with members of the urban agriculture community.
Part 1: Land & Water Access Rights — What’s Missing & How to Connect
November 10 from 6:00 – 7:30 PM
A discussion on the realities and legal implications of land and water access, featuring:

  • Anton Seals Jr. of Grow Greater Englewood
  • Iyana Simba of the Illinois Environmental Council
  • Elise Robison of Patchwork Farms
Part 2: “Mycelium at Work”
November 17 from 6:00 – 7:30 PM
A discussion on health equity, environmental justice, & labor rights, featuring:
  • José Acosta-Córdova of the Little Village Environmental Justice Organization (LVEJO)
  • Orrin Williams of the Office of Community Engagement and Neighborhood Health Partnerships & UI Health
  • Safia Rashid of Your Bountiful Harvest.

These guided panels are instrumental in understanding the realities of the urban agriculture community to support effective programming and policy initiatives moving forward.
